Sifa is a young and determined fashion designer in Mukuru slums of Nairobi. ‘When I dropped out of school, I was lucky that a local fashion designer taught me her skills. I saved money to buy my own sewing machine. I love to make beautiful as well as affordable clothes.’
Also Joe Mwangi had a dream of becoming a successful motor mechanic. Despite difficulties he managed to train himself. Joe: ‘When you treat your clients well, they come back to you. I don’t care that some people look down on my overall and greasy hands. I am proud of what I do.’
