Made in Kibera Production Studio, which was opened early April, is the first in the heart of Kibera. The Audio Visual studio will benefit the artists, where most residents live in extreme poverty. Our reporter Ursula Akinyi tells the story.
African Slum Journal by Nairobi Community Media House tells about the life of people living in slum communities. A weak media sector provides scope for corruption and inequality. By giving African slums a voice we will strengthen the local media sector together with the people who live in the slum. Community based reporting by young people brings out the voice of Africans to a wider audience and contributes to transparency of local issues at a local, national and international level.
