Residents in Nairobi slums are spending a lot of money on water, and even more in times of draught. The cost of water is high in the slums. Christina Asamba tells us: ‘The mayor problem is the scarcity of water. Sometimes we are forced to get water from wells and we don’t know if the water is clean. But we just have to use it.’ For others the draught may continue because it means good business of selling water. This week’s price is 25 Ksh per 20 ltr, next week it will raise to 30 Ksh.
